Dr. Nan Bernstein Ratner

Dr. Ratner is a professor in the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences at the University of Maryland, College Park, and is the Director of the Language Fluency Lab.
Her interests include communication and language disorders in children. She is especially interested in fluency and fluency disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and the role of parent-child interaction in children's communication development and in the treatment of communication disorders.
Dr. Ratner is also the Co-Director of the University of Maryland Autism Research Consortium (UMARC: www.autism.umd.edu). With Brian MacWhinney of Carnegie-Mellon University, she co-directs the FluencyBank project (fluency.talkbank.org).
